New Challenges
As I reflect on the past year, I am grateful to all of those who have invited me into their homes and trusted me with their task list. I have enjoyed the journey and the year went by quickly. I have faced a few new challenges that surprised me, likely because I was more focused on the “work” that I would be doing instead of all of the administrative tasks. Challenges present opportunities to learn and prevent life from being mundane. The first challenge was how to schedule/track appointments, I quickly ditched the pen and paper method for Google Calendar. The next challenge was determining how to plan for the different time required to complete various tasks. I didn’t want to become the contractor who starts a job only to finish it weeks/months later. The last challenge I will mention is how to appropriately estimate jobs.
Below are a few pictures of larger projects that I have done. I have also done a lot of small jobs along the way to. I like doing small jobs as well, however they don’t show quite the transformation that the below pictures do.

Customer wanted LVP installed on the wall with an accent around the fireplace.

Customer wanted custom shutters preserved so we removed layers of paint and restored the shutters by fixing rotting wood and re-painting them.

Before picture – customer’s sheetrock was removed due to ice dams. We fixed the insulation that was hastily installed by someone else and installed drywall on the walls and ceiling.

Just like new again – we mudded, painted and installed window trim. It was the first time a client stood and clapped as we left she was so happy with the results.

Customer wanted the vanity painted and the tub/shower combo replaced with a standing shower.

New shutters installed.

Fireplace mantle installed.

Wall was damaged when taking down the curtains, I fixed the damaged areas and helped the customer rehang the curtains.

Painted the fireplace to give it a white-washed look.

Added shelving to a closet.

Finished bathroom – customer will install the vanity and paint the wall.
